If so, consider this exciting opportunity with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Centre of Forensic Sciences.

We are seeking a Quality Manager who will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance within our organization and its quality management framework, system, and programs.

The Quality Manager works to ensure our adherence with accreditation requirements, and by extension, with Ontario's Forensic Laboratory Act.

About Us:


The Centre of Forensic Sciences prepares legally admissible evidence for law enforcement officers, attorneys, coroners, etc., by scientific examination of physical objects and materials in the areas of Biology/DNA, Toxicology, Firearms Analysis, Chemistry, and Questioned Documents.

The Centre also provides opinion evidence on analytical findings and expert witness testimony.

Further mandates of the centre include research and development to advance the field of forensic science and providing training to our clients and stakeholders.

Deliver on Business Goals and Priorities
Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards the achievement of it's business goals.

It will be your responsibility to inspire and motivate your team to deliver their best performance and align the team's daily actions with the strategic vision of the ministry.

You will contribute to the achievement of team goals by:

  • Spearheading the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the centre's quality management framework, system, and programs.
  • Supervising adherence to the centre's management system, accreditation standards, and legislation, while guiding and directing staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality assurance policies, standards, practices and procedures across all laboratory sites
  • Developing and implementing the centre's health and safety program, ensuring alignment with Ministry and legislative requirements.
  • Providing strategic direction and advice in the investigation and analysis of complex nonconformance incidents identified through quality assurance audits, and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Overseeing the annual proficiency testing program of the centre to evaluate the scientific and technical staff's capabilities and the reliability of analytical testing conducted in the laboratory.

  • You have experience managing and leading teams to meet organizational vision and objectives
  • You can coach and develop team members to unlock their full potential, drive individual and collective growth
  • You can ensure and monitor compliance with legislative statutes, collective agreements, government and ministry policies, directives, guidelines and commitments related services.
  • You have sound judgement and political acuity skills to provide authoritative advice and guidance to senior management.
  • You can manage human resources, financial resources and reporting, including the development of multiyear budget and resource plans, design and risk assessment to ensure policies adhere with Ministry strategi
