The role encompasses a wide range of activities, including reinsurance pricing analysis, interaction with our Broking teams, client interaction as well as research projects.

  • Position can be Vice President level, depending on experience

Key Duties

  • Provide actuarial reinsurance pricing and dynamic portfolio optimization support for Gallagher Re's Senior Actuaries in their work for clients and prospects.
Account Analysis and Support

  • Perform actuarial analysis to develop loss model for client business, estimate reinsurance pricing, and determine optimal reinsurance structures given client risk profile and underwriting strategy
  • Present analyses in clear terms appropriate to the audience
  • Manage projects and assist in training of staff
  • Provide valueadded service to clients as needed
  • Market Research and Development
  • Assist Senior Actuaries in market and line of business studies to promote Gallagher Re as thought leader in reinsurance and primary marketplace
  • Work closely with other analytical associates across Gallagher Re including other Actuaries, Catastrophe Modelers, Rating Agency Advisory, ERM and Capital Markets Associates

Qualifications:

  • ACAS, FCAS or near ACAS
  • 5+ years in P&C actuarial role(s)
  • Ideally including experience in reinsurance or primary pricing roles
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with/knowledge of property and casualty and accident and health insurance
  • Working knowledge of SQL, PowerBI, Python and R a plus
  • Experience with stochastic modeling and cat models a plus
