Under the supervision of the Manager, the Evaluation Consultant coordinates and/or leads intermediate level evaluation activities related to the development and advancement of addiction and mental health programs and projects.
The Evaluation Consultant is responsible for managing and coordinating various project activities, leading or co-leading the design of project methodology and successfully implementing evaluation projects.
This can include project planning, strategic planning, developing workplans and evaluation frameworks, data collection and analysis from a number of sources (e.g., databases, surveys, and interviews), and report writing and dissemination of findings using a variety of strategies such as presentations, technical reports, or webinars.
The incumbent may function as a consultant to external stakeholders on evaluation design and selection of appropriate measurement tools and indicators.
The Evaluation Consultant may be involved with several projects at any particular time. Allocation to each of the major responsibilities/accountabilities will vary from project to project and month to month.- Classification: Coordinator

Required Qualifications:
Graduate degree from social sciences, health sciences or other related fields with formal training in evaluation design, research methods and data analysis.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to independently design and implement small scale evaluation projects. Experience in stakeholder liaison/relations, project management and data collection/analysis (i.e., qualitative and quantitative).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, statistical packages and spreadsheet software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Excel, ACCESS, STATA, Tableau) and/or qualitative research tools (e.g., NVivo).
Strong communication skills (oral and written). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and quickly adapt to changing project needs.Preferred Qualifications:
Professional designation with the Canadian Evaluation Society is an asset.
