JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the QC Supervisor, the Laboratory Assistant will support the QC Laboratory and Operations by performing the duties as described below:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs daily calibration of laboratory balances, pH meters and performs pipette verification.
Changes charts on chart recorders weekly.
Responsible for daily monitoring of water system, reporting TOC and resistivity values and outsourcing water testing as per SOP requirements.
Responsible for glassware cleaning, drying, and arranging glassware on the shelves.
Cleans and maintains the QC laboratory in a neat condition at all times.
Disposes laboratory reagent wastes as per instructions.
Orders/receives laboratory reagents/chemicals/standards and maintains reagent inventory/data base.
Performs sampling activities on packaging components in the presence of QC/Designate.
Promptly notifies Supervisor of any anomalies, observations, which may impact the validity of data.
Performs cleaning activities related to the Sampling Booth and vicinity and other QC area when required.
Works as an effective team member to meet departmental goals, sharing knowledge with team members and across QC.
Maintains compliance to all health and safety standards.

Ensures that all work is performed in compliance with GMPs, GLPs, SOPs and established regulatory requirements.
0ther occasional duties as assigned by QC Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum college degree in a science related field
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
Basic knowledge of commonly used computer programs (Excel, Word)
Experience in a GMP laboratory environment is an asset.
