We are looking for a Team Leader, Information Management to support our Construction Research Centre. The Team Leader, Information Management would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.


Under the general supervision of the Manager, Production and Marketing, Codes Canada, this specialized position is responsible for assessing existing and emerging technologies, best practices/methodologies in the IM/IT field, and providing strategic direction to management regarding their applicability to Codes Canada, which includes National Master Specifications (NMS), and Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) business requirements.

Education:

Honours Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Information Systems.

Experience:


  • Extensive experience in the IM/IT field, including areas such as systems analysis, systems implementation and software development life cycle.
  • Extensive experience with project management (including agile project management) principles and project management tools (preferably Ms. Project).
  • Significant experience in identifying and implementing a Department's IM/IT needs and technologies that could address policy, program and organizational needs.
  • Significant experience in implementation and management of IM/IT Service Management practice.
  • Significant experience in providing strategic and technical advice to internal and external stakeholders and management.
  • Significant experience in managing, supervising, mentoring, developing and directing a team of informatics professionals.

  • Solid knowledge of information systems, services and operating systems concepts on a variety of computer platforms for the publication of legal or technical documents.
  • Solid knowledge of adaptive and predictive project management frameworks and techniques, projected workload volume, budgeting and planning, and work and project planning/scheduling tools.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise the activities of technical staff and provide mentoring and develop staff's technical skills and competencies.
  • Understanding of Treasury Board and NRC policies and guidelines in the IT field.
  • Knowledge in TeamSite, Oracle and XML would be considered an asset.

Competency Profile(s):


Relocation:

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.


Compensation:

From $103,919 to $126,025 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.


An incumbent occupying a position within the CS Group is currently entitled to receive a terminable allowance of $248 per month.
