The Kootenay Co-op is looking for a full time Outreach Coordinator (32 hours a week) If passion for community is your thing, this is the job for you.
SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS- Experience or passion for community engagement, event planning, nonprofits, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service/interpersonal communications
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and analytical skills.
- Proven organization and time management skills, including the ability to plan and work on multiple projects, meet deadlines, and readily adapt to the
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships and collaborating effectively.
- Effective project management skills + experience
- Event planning, both in person and online
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, social and traditional media.
- Experience or interest in natural + organic food industry, local food, food security, and/or community engagement and a passion for lifelong
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and manage all Coop Outreach programs according to annual plan and budget.
- Promote and administer existing programs and reconcile to budget.
- Develop new community and member engagement opportunities.
- Plan, coordinate and promote robust and engaging educational programming, such as classes + workshops, stores tours, etc.
- Manage + monitor booking of outdoor area for external community groups.
- Develop and coordinate events including promotional events like, Coop Week, Birthday Party, AGM,
- Coordinate initiatives to raise awareness and engage members/community regarding a range of issues relating to our mission and values.
- Coordinate store staff involvement/engagement in Coop campaigns in conjunction with Marketing & Sales Manager and HR Department.
- Alongside the Marketing team, develop digital and print materials to support community programs (e.g., promotional materials, rack cards, information
- Assist with recruitment and supervise Outreach staff, including Class assistants, event staff, etc.
- Work collaboratively and contributing positively to the team dynamic to support department and store goals.
- Work closely with department managers, staff, and members of the public to successfully deliver on store goals.
- Comply with the policies and procedures set out in the Employee Handbook and the Health and Safety ManualResponsibilities:
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage with potential donors and supporters
- Coordinate fundraising efforts, including organizing events and campaigns
- Maintain donor database and track donations
- Provide administrative support to the fundraising team, including managing correspondence and scheduling meetings
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding in outreach materials
- Educate the public about the organization's mission, programs, and impact
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to build relationships and network effectively
- Proficient in using fundraising software and databases
- Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
