- A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in emergency management, or a related discipline, that includes courses in emergency planning, response, and hazard and risk assessment.
- Minimum of 5 years' directly related experience in emergency response or preparedness.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's license, or equivalent.
- Experience as an emergency management professional in a local government organization.
- The ability to understand maps and related materials used by EMBC or other government agencies in Emergency Management planning.
- First Aid Level 1.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to clearly, confidently, and professionally present information in diverse environments.
- Ability to exercise courtesy, tact, diplomacy, and cultural sensitivity.
