The City of Coquitlam has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Planning Manager to join the Finance team within the Finance, Lands and Police department.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position will be integral in supporting the current and long-range financial plans and programs for the City.
As the Financial Planning Manager, you will lead all financial planning requirements for the City including the annual five-year financial planning process as well as the long-range budget forecasts, tax strategy and multi-year capital plans.
In addition, you will inform the development of various financial policies and strategies and be responsible for coordinating the provision of financial analysis to support organizational decision-making.
This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to create efficiencies in financial planning through continuous improvement including the implementation of progressive budgeting systems and business processes while also reviewing and implementing best practices related to financial planning and budgeting.
You will also have the opportunity to work with a group of knowledgeable peer managers to help promote the department as a strategic partner to the rest of the organization.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional and an influential leader with excellent communication, teambuilding, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff and build strong working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
The successful incumbent in this position will bring a minimum of - 7 years of progressive senior level management experience and will hold an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or Business Administration.

The City offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. This position is based in Coquitlam with some flexible, remote work options available. The City has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
