Position Description

Position Title:
Program Manager

Position Summary


Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Program Manager (Manager) will be responsible for the operational success of Brighter Futures programming.

Ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, quality control, and program evaluation are essential to this position. The Manager may be responsible for the management of a staff of 3-6 individuals. The Manager will be one of the key external faces of Brighter Futures Family Resource Society in the community.

They will use their team management experience to grow and further develop already proven programs and expand services to additional rural communities in need.

They will lead programs, work collaboratively with the ED to ensure that the Society remains focused on our mission to strengthen family relationships and community connections.


Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: In collaboration with the ED the Manager will:_
  • Provide leadership and vision for programming, both in the context of the Society and of the community.
  • Evaluate all aspects of programming, including program design, volunteer utilization, collaborations, and family and community relationships.
  • Facilitate programming as required.
  • Ensure program activities reflect best practices in child development, implementing changes that will allow the programming to remain innovative and compliant with outcomes and objectives set by funders.
  • Ensure the Society provides inclusive, developmental, and appropriate learning experiences & activities.
  • Ensure all program environments are safe for children.
  • Foster an atmosphere of positive communication and partner with parents/guardians/caregivers, staff, and external agencies.
  • Deliver Healthy Together program at dropin groups.
  • Team Management and Development: In collaboration with the ED the Manager will:_
  • Be familiar with the Policy & Procedure Manual and comfortable implementing policies.
  • When necessary, implement a professional development plan to address supervisee experience & skill gaps.
  • Work with staff to develop objective performance measurements across all sites to ensure consistent, highquality evaluation and goal setting for all employees.
  • Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling organizational best practices.
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee training and orientation of all staff members.
  • Special Events & Community Engagement_
  • Work collaboratively with staff and community agencies to develop and deliver special events.
  • Develop partnerships with other community agencies through collaboration and board membership.
  • Plan annual fundraiser.
  • Administration_
  • Coordinate and disseminate information concerning activities or programs while acting as one of the primary point people for the Society.
  • Ensure rental agreements for programming space facilities are updated yearly and building access is continually maintained.
  • Monitor the program expenditures in order to meet projected budget.
  • Ensure proper metrics of program statistics are collected.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of an efficient registration process.
  • Attend collaborative meetings as a representative of the Society and keep the ED updated on developments in the community.
  • Participate in fundraising campaigns.
  • Organize workshops, After School, Kimochis, and Second Step programming in partnership with other community agencies in our service areas. Facilitate the abovementioned as required.
  • Assist in the development and placement of advertising for programs and employment, maintenance of the website, all social media pages, and program brochures.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Specific requirements include:_
  • Minimum of a diploma in Early Childhood Development, Human Services, or Business Management and/or a combination of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing, delivering, and evaluating learning opportunities in children's programming that fosters, empowers, and nurtures each child's social, emotional, and physical development in a positive manner.
  • Proficiency in using technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and social media platforms.
  • Strong management skills that have resulted in measurable successes and program growth.
  • Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals.
  • Strength in leading teams by empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, spanofcontrol, and performance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the Brighter Futures vision and mission.
  • This position is based on a 30hour work week._

COMPENSATION STRATEGY:
Incentive-based employment agreement with a salary of $ 3
