Strong Theory knowledge

Woodwinds/Brass:

Strong Theory knowledge

(RCM accreditation or equipment)

Ability to teach various levels of RCM particularly Grade 5 and up
Ability to teach various genres (Classical, Pop, Jazz, Rock, etc) is as asset

Strings - Violin/Cello - needed for 1 weekday night & Saturday:

Strong Theory knowledge

(RCM accreditation or equipment)

Ability to teach various levels of RCM particularly Grade 5 and up
Ability to teach various genres (Classical, Pop, Jazz, Rock, etc) is as asset

Vocals:

Strong Theory knowledge
Ability to teach various levels of RCM
Ability to teach various genres (Classical, Musical Theatre, Pop, Jazz, Rock, etc) is as asset

As an instructor at Arcadia Academy of Music, you will provide sound practices, knowledge and guidance of all ages.

It is expected that you carry out the following duties:

Establish a professional relationship with parents and students
Dress appropriately (dress code info will be provided upon hiring)
Organize and be coherent in your lesson structure/plans
Use approved materials and method books to teach students following the school's provided syllabus
Communicate with parents about their child's lessons and progress in the program
Encourage all students to participate in performances, examinations, auditions, festivals and attending their regular scheduled lesson
Attend and participate in workshops and meetings
Assess students' abilities, providing constructive feedback and advice for improvement and completing annual progress reports

General Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year teaching experience
Ability to inspire & motivate
Strong communication skills at all levels
Determination, Discipline, Creativity, Commitment, Passionate, Patience, Enthusiasm, Collaborative skills
