    Team & Job Overview

    The ESG Reporting & Outreach team is seeking to recruit a Senior Advisor, ESG Reporting & Outreach to support its ESG metrics collection, data documentation and disclosure processes. This individual will be a key player in strengthening ESG-related data governance at EDC.

    Reporting to the Director, ESG Reporting & Outreach in the ESG Integration Group, the Senior Advisor will work with key internal stakeholders across the organization to review available information, work towards enhancing data controls, developing indicator protocol documents for ESG-related metrics and establishing clear rationales for disclosed metrics and targets.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in socializing ESG reporting objectives and work with internal stakeholders to ensure clarity behind metrics and disclosures.
  • In partnership with key internal stakeholders, review and validate key ESG metrics, and enhance data quality controls through the development of detailed indicator protocol documents.
  • Develop and implement controls and enhanced governance within the ESG reporting process to establish a robust ESG reporting process that allows for transparent and meaningful disclosure that is timely, accurate and complete.
  • Establish guidelines for the management, review, and approval of ESG-related data.
  • Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify possible impacts on the performance of the organization's ESG program.
  • Prepare briefs, presentations and summaries for executive audience and for other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage strong working relationships and maintain open dialogue with key internal stakeholders.
  • Screening Criteria

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in finance, sustainability or related discipline.
  • Undergraduate degree in related discipline (e.g., business, accounting, sustainability, environmental studies).
  • ESG reporting subject matter expertise, technical knowledge of ESG measurement and reporting methodologies.
  • Understanding and knowledge of or experience with current reporting standards and framework, including GRI, SASB, UN SDGs and TCFD.
  • Knowledge of current ESG reporting trends and developments in the international ESG reporting standards space.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills and experience.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills and capability to synthesize key information for senior level consumption.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, think critically, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multi-task and prioritize, and ability to manage competing priorities and escalate issues effectively.
  • Assets

  • Master's degree in a Sustainability or Finance-related subject.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience with financial accounting and reporting, or with financial or ESG assurance.
  • Experience in corporate sustainability and responsibility issues and their relevance to the financial services sector.
  • Understanding, knowledge and experience of emerging reporting standards and frameworks, such as ISSB S1 & S2, TNFD, or ESRD.
  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).

  • Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
  • This role may be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Montreal, Toronto/Mississauga, Calgary, Vancouver, or Halifax.

  • Salary Range

  • ESG Reporting & Measurement 18: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,355 - $123,140 plus performance-based incentive
