Cedarwood Village in Simcoe ON is looking for a
Student Placement & Personnel Coordinator to join their team.

***- $25.00/hr

  • This is a 1year contract position with the possibility of extension
  • 75 hours biweekly
  • Monday to Friday


Reporting to the Administrator, you will be responsible for the onboarding, orientation and management of new Employees and Student Placements in compliance with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Homes Act and Regulations and our homes' specific policies.

To facilitate and manage student placements, you will act as the liaison between Cedarwood Village and educational institutions.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop new or maintain existing partnerships with colleges and universities for the successful placement of students at Cedarwood Village
  • Promote and recruit team members into a preceptor role
  • Liaise with LTC home preceptors to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to support students
  • Coordinate the placement schedule and pair students with preceptor team members in consultation with the department Manager
  • Coordinate the evaluation of the student placement program in the home, including, but not limited to, preceptor and student feedback on the experience
  • Identify opportunities and methods to improve process for a sustainable student placement program
  • Inform students of available employment opportunities in the home, and participate in recruiting students to positions postplacement
  • Onboarding of new employees and students, including but not limited to, providing tours and introducing new employees and students to team members
  • Collect and process mandatory documentation required from students and new employees and send to Payroll & HR Administrator for execution
  • Track and followup on items such as VSC, TB testing and education to ensure the personal file is complete
  • Ensure all Payroll & HR Forms are properly completed and submitted to Payroll & HR Administrator for execution
  • Track and coordinate the monthly Annual Performance Reviews for Department Managers
  • Recruitment duties posting of ads, liaise with community partners, job fairs etc., perform initial screening and book interviews for Hiring Manager
  • Other duties as assigned by the Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • At least one year of current related experience in project coordination or management
  • At least one year of recruiting experience
  • An engaging, professional and outgoing personality
  • Experience engaging with organizational partners
  • Demonstrated leadership and communications skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Homes Act and Regulations
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
