Position Expectations:


  • Work with our team to implement geophysical techniques within the Lower Mainland such as MASW, Downhole Seismic, Seismic Refraction, ERT, & GPR.
  • Deploy and maintain geotechnical monitoring instruments in the field such as automated total stations, tiltmeters, inclinometers, piezometers, strain gauges, load cells, and seismographs.
  • Review data and prepare final data reports for distribution to clients, engineers, and construction professionals.
  • Assist our staff in photographing the existing condition of buildings and structures.
  • Work directly with customers to provide technical services Script custom solutions for handling and processing data.
  • Research and develop techniques not currently being used at Municon West Coast.
  • Some collaboration may be required with our San Francisco team.

Desired skills and competencies:


  • A valid motor vehicle license and a clean driving record (required).
  • Broad knowledge of Geophysical Techniques.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Python/Matlab, SQL, Visual Basic.
  • Experience in server management.
  • Experience in geotechnical instrumentation or construction experience is a bonus.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.

Education:


  • Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field (such as physics, environmental science, computer science, etc.) (required).
