SUMMARY:


The Parts Technician is responsible for part preparation and inventory This position is responsible for daily tasks such asand staging parts, and tools required by the service mechanics.

This role acts as the main point of contact between our purchaser, mechanics and suppliers.

In addition, the Parts person will maintain appropriate inventory levels for our commonly used items and create service / work orders & daily parts run.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide support to Mechanics and the Purchasing team.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Create, track, and process all purchase orders (administrative).
  • Process parts loading, unloading & put away.
  • Track and maintain tools and Assets.
  • Prioritize workload to meet the daily functionality of the Company.
Provide Support to Mechanics, Purchasing Team, and Administrative Teams.

  • Request to procure, and stage parts and materials as required.
  • Keep technicians and purchasing team informed of order received & requirements.
  • Assist the purchasing team to process by sourcing parts and providing current pricing and lead time.
  • Work with administration to process completed work orders, Inventory.
Maintain accurate and appropriate inventory levels.

  • Monitor inventory using the system and visual checks to avoid overstock and stockouts.
  • Restock inventory as required through supplier purchases and transfers between branches.
  • Label incoming parts with the correct part number and place them in inventory in the right location.
  • Participate in biweekly cycle counts and Yearly inventory counts.
Administrative

  • Create and receiving process for purchase orders for suppliers.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders, keeping all parties involved up to date on any changes.
  • Receiving Purchase order in the Business Central / Agg Kontol
  • Collecting requirements from the Mechanics & order the parts from supplier after getting PO from the purchasing.
  • Scan & attach packing slips / related documents to Purchase orders.
Process Service / Work order and Maintenance

  • Schedule units in for service.
  • In liaison with the Service technician, offering suggestions to on how best they can repair their vehicles.
  • Communicate with the service technician, purchasing, foreman, and mechanics to ensure prompt completion of jobs.
  • Writing of initial estimates and staying in contact with the technician through the job process.
  • Communicating job requirements to the shop supervisor/ foreman and working with the shop for scheduling.
  • Verifying that all labor and parts are accounted for on Work Order and Invoices.
  • Communicate emergency triage requests to the foreman.
  • Close work orders and invoice when a job is complete.
  • Utilize shop planner.
  • Scan shop documents to repair orders & purchase orders.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Track and maintain tools and Assets.

  • Purchase tools for mechanics as required.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are tagged with an Asset number.
  • Using system monitor tools that require yearly inspection or certification and sending out as required.
  • Monitor tool conditions and send for repair or replacement as required.

Other Job Duties:


  • Ensure safety requirements are being met daily through the provision of appropriate P.P.E. and training.
  • Shipping and receiving duties as needed.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of cleanliness in parts Inventory shelving and Job staging area.
  • Responsible for afterhours Parts phone
  • On-Call
  • Monitor and maintain shop consumables, ensuring these items are available as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:


  • Previous experience in automotive parts or related field preferred or suitable trade experience equivalent.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fastpaced environment, Forklift License required.
  • Microsoft Windows operating systems; Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary:
$18.72-$25.00 per hour
