Description
5 years experience (preferred)Duties include but are not limited to:
Performing and leading quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspection, testing and maintenance on fire and life safety systems such as: Fire Alarm Systems, portable fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire hoses, special hazard systems, exit and egress equipment and other fire and life safety equipment and infrastructure as required by the appliable National and Provincial Codes and Standards
Conducting and leading daily, weekly, monthly inspections
Identifying and reporting on deficiencies and code/standard violations noted during inspection, testing and maintenance services
Repairs to Fire alarm and life safety equipment
Completing fire and life safety device replacements
Documenting inspection, testing and maintenance results, identify problems, offers proposed solutions, and escalates as necessary
Prepares and maintains reports and inspection records on fire and life safety equipment and systems
Travels to various properties and accesses equipment located throughout buildings and clients' sites, which may include using ladders, lifts, and platforms, entering confined spaces, working in mechanical, electrical, and service rooms and other building spaces
Works closely with site escorts, building operations staff, employees, contractors, sub-contractors, building tenants/occupants, Authorities having Jurisdiction when conducting ITM Services, including when the shutdown of Fire Protection systems and building equipment when required to facilitate inspections, repairs and/or replacement services
Arranges for repairs and/or alterations of the systems in conjunction with the Senior Fire Technicians, Sprinkler Fitters, and Supervisory Staff
Uses technology such as mobile phones, laptop computers, tablets, and software such as Microsoft Office and third-party reporting apps in conjunction with our work order management system (Service Call) to conduct all scheduled inspections and to track deficiency work
Maintains records of all tests and corrective actions, as required
Assist in obtaining materials from suppliers and our warehouses for field service jobs
All other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor/manager

$24.00-$32.00 per hour
