Position Description

As a member of the Pharmacy Operations team, reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy Operations, the Pharmacy Technician will provide a variety of technical functions related to the preparation, dispensing and distribution of medication to inpatients and outpatient clinics utilizing a computerized distribution system.


These duties include but are not limited to:

unit-dose dispensing, maintaining ward stock, delivery of medication, purchasing and inventory control activities, performing compounding of pharmaceutical products, monitoring usage and expiry dates, maintaining storage conditions and pharmacy equipment, auditing and reporting discrepancies, and outpatient dispensing as require.

This position also supports and participates in risk management, patient safety, and quality improvement activities.

The Pharmacy Technician will practice to the full scope, including independent double checking the technical work of other technicians as required by the pharmacist.

The Pharmacy Technician performs work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, professional standards and guidelines, and CAMH corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Please Note:
This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.


Salary Range:
$ $31.95 per hour
