What to Expect
This is an Afternoon Shift position
Hours are Monday-Thursday 3:30-pm to 1:00am, Friday 2:30pm to 11:00pm.
Afternoon shift includes a 10% shift premium.
Tesla has an immediate opening for an Electrical Technician Supervisor to join the Production Engineering team at the Tesla Toronto Automation, ON.
What You'll Do
- Build a strong, motivated team capable of consistently delivering high quality performance.
- Work with day shift supervisor, sync on daily hand over tasks
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Evaluating electrical assembly technician staff and completing performance reviews, as well as, taking disciplinary measures as needed. Document team member performance and daily attendance.
- Lead a team of Electrical Technicians
- Work closely with the Project Management team on schedule and priorities
- Work closely with the Engineering team on modifications or changes that would impact the overall equipment build
- Drive improvement activities across the shift to increase team knowledge and capability
- Adhere to strict 5S standards and maintain cleanliness on the floor and within automation cells
- Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, and hand over Improve preventative maintenance activities to decrease overall downtime
- Troubleshoot down equipment to root cause and suggest longterm countermeasures for elimination
- Observe all safety policies during the execution of required tasks
- Complete requested activities as assigned
- Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, defined plans, and written/verbal instructions
- Required to work with and around hazardous areas and hazardous chemicals and materials
- Other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
- 2 years of college/technical school or equivalent work experience
- 24 years of supervisory experience is preferred
- Applicable documented Training and/or Certifications a plus
- Must have understanding of general manufacturing processes, automation, and controls
- Experience with Fanuc robots and PLC programming
- Must demonstrate reliability, initiative, and desire to learn
- Must be adaptable in work schedule (including compressed work week) and working environment
- Effective verbal and written communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization
- Capable of providing constructive feedback to subordinates
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information
- Multitasks and adapts to constant change
- Able to use Microsoft Office software Able to wear all required PPE associated with required tasks
