- Are you a skilled communications professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Our Corporate Communications department is growing, and we are looking for
Communications Officers to join our dynamic, dedicated team.
You will identify and support communications objectives for internal and external audiences. You will perform stakeholder analyses and develop strategies to increase awareness of WorkSafeBC's services, goals, and initiatives.
You'll write communication plans and develop supporting materials for print and online channels, ensuring consistency of style and accuracy of content while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do
- Consult with internal clients to develop and execute complex communication plans that address organizational issues, mitigate potential risks and challenges, and provide clear, consistent, timely, and useful information to WorkSafeBC's stakeholders
- Conceive and implement communication strategies to foster a greater understanding of WorkSafeBC's services, business objectives, and initiatives
- Provide recommendations on content, key messages, style, and format of communications to the department and to clients
- Provide functional guidance to editors, web publishers, designers, and photo/video editors when developing and implementing communication initiatives
We're looking for people who can:
- Communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences both online and in person.
- Coach and influence others in developing effective communication skills
- Build strong relationships with people across and outside the organization
- Collaborate with crossdepartmental teams on complex and challenging projects, while adapting quickly to emerging circumstances or needs and be flexible in the face of change
- Use the principles and best practices of business communications, including developing and implementing communication plans and strategies

Your background and experience
- A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of six years of experience working in communications, public affairs, media relations, or writing and/or editing in a government, editorial, or publishing (consumer, academic, corporate, or technical) environment.
