About you / qualifications:


  • 68 years of relevant experience (with 12 years of experience in a management role)
  • Completion of a qualified accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting under IFRS and financial management (financial services or banking experience would be an asset)
  • Experience reviewing the work of others and providing feedback
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach and motivate your team through a period of significant change and growth in the company
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of excel at an advanced level and Microsoft Office
  • Solid aptitude for information technology, and digital/automation tools
  • Good judgement and demonstrated sound decisionmaking skills, highly motivated and has a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to grasp business concepts and manage a team in a dynamic, fast paced and multientity environment
  • Aptitude for rapid growth in alignment with the Company and comfortable with change.

About the day-to-day:


  • Management of the monthend and yearend close processes, ensuring timeliness of the close process and production of accurate financial reports
  • Management of tax compliance, including both income and indirect taxes
  • Daytoday management and supervision of the accounting staff to ensure the department functions effectively daily
  • Analysis of operations and financial records for key trends illustrating opportunities and challenges
  • Assist in the identification of opportunities and develop recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department through the use of conventional, digital, and automation tools
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of procedural or other departmental changes as required
  • Assist with internal and external audits with assistance from the broader finance leadership team
  • Support the development of self and members
  • Support the finance leadership team with the annual budgeting process; and
  • Completion and management of ad hoc projects as assigned.
