- Successful completion of an Electrical Technologist/Technician diploma program or Electrical Engineering Degree.
- Membership with TechNova or Engineers Nova Scotia is preferable.
- Electrical design and automation experience an asset.
- Strong preference given to candidates with experience using the following software packages.
- PLC programming software: Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens Simatic Manager, Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5, Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500, Allen-Bradley RSLogic, 5000/Studio 5000, Pilz PNOZMulti Configurator.
- HMI programming software: Siemens WinCC, Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk View Studio (ME andSE).
- Drive configuration software: Control Techniques MConnect, Control Techniques CTSoft, Siemens StartDrive, Siemens Starter.
- Must be self-directed and possess good self-discipline, as well as the ability to manage multiple project-related tasks.
- Three to five years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
- 3D Solid Modelling and Simulation: SolidWorks or CATIA.
- 2D Drafting software: AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidEdge 2D.

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Reporting to the Engineering Department heads, Mechanical Designers are primarily responsible for general design and drafting of mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry. This includes general engineering drawings/document updates and participation in project meetings. Candidates will have exceptional oral and written communication skills and must be proficient with 3D solid modelling and simulation software (i.e. SolidWorks). They enjoy a dynamic working environment and are able work well alone or within a multidisciplinary team. They also must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
