YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the development of air and oil systems of gas turbine engines by optimising aerodynamics/heat management of single
- and two-phase flows respectively.

  • Preparing and modifying CAD with CATIA.
  • Executing CFD simulations with ANSYS products (FLUENT/CFX).
  • Analyzing secondary and oil systems with 1D codes.
  • Utilize first principles to simplify complex problems to optimize simulation time.
  • Identify and analyse the technical needs of the project.
  • Based on simulation results, give recommendations on the technical direction to take by considering the pros and cons of the various solutions.
  • Present results to several internal stakeholders including Fluid Systems, Mechanical Components and Research and Technology teams amongst others
  • Participate in experimental testing associated with the proposed technical solutions.
  • Perform a technological watch and a continuous improvement on the methods and software's used.

What your day to day will look like:

  • Perform 1D and 3D simulations of a variety of fluid related problems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to support fluid systems related projects.
  • Coordinate departmental documentation efforts.

What you need to be successful:


Must haves:


  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work onsite in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing a degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken/written). French is an asset.

Assets:


  • Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with competing and varying priorities.
  • Exposure to CAD and/or CFD packages.
  • Ability to code in Python.

Work Environment

Hybrid

  • 3 days a week in the office with core hours of 9am to 3pm.
