Role and Responsibilities

EH&S Counsellor - Aftermarket**- SUMMARY OF THE JOB


Reporting to Aftermarket management, provide support, guidance and coaching to Aftermarket management teams and all employees on the implementation of effective risk management programs and initiatives related to hardware, software and integration activities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES_:
_

  • Create strong teamwork relationships with all Aftermarket leaders, program and project managers, field operation manager and EH&S representative in order to foster the EHS culture
  • Develop, implement and manage a monitoring process to ensure that all the requirements from the RAMS process are present, compliant and of high quality
  • Develop and implement an EH&S risk management audit for Aftermarket various activities
  • Provide guidance within all Afttermarket activities and teams to ensure knowledge of, and compliance against, local country EH&S requirements which are applicable to the specific type of CAE operation undertaken.
  • Coach management teams and all employees to ensure the implementation of effective change management strategies for all project/program and operational related decisions
  • Guide all employees and management teams to meet CAE's programs requirements, EH&S best practices and local country regulations.
This would include the following but not limited to:


  • RAMS (risk assessment and method statement) for all software and hardware projects.
  • Continuous reviews performed for risk and hazard identification and risk analysis.
  • Coaching management in developing ways to mitigate or avoid adverse risks.
  • Lead projects and initiatives while providing coaching, to obtain impactful safety interactions with all employees.
  • During project site visits, the EH&S professional will:
  • Coach site management teams on impactful discussions with employees during EH&S daily briefings and project meetings.
  • Conduct site inspections and coach site EH&S representatives on EH&S issues (identifying risks and controls), programs and initiatives.
  • Attend operational, business unit and project management meetings, providing oversite feedback and recommendations on RAMS, process implementation and EH&S risks.
  • Lead H&S governances and various reviews. Track evolution and progress of initiatives.
  • Perform continuous training needs assessments and oversee EH&S training for all type of activities in Aftermarket. Recommend and deploy EH&S training strategies
  • Provide management teams with assurance and recommendations for improvement in environmental impact assessments for each project
  • Manage event reporting and investigation requirements (accident, incident, hazard etc.) within company reporting systems, maintaining a strong working relationship with local and global EH&S teams
  • Monitor the implementation of contractor safety management practices and ensure project/program alignment with corporate company requirements.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) guidance on EH&S management practices and implementation of CAE Global programs through all Aftermarket segments

EDUCATION & MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or another appropriate academic discipline.
  • University certificate in Health and Safety
  • At least 5 years broad experience in a EH&S advisory role and/or corporate position.
