The Food & Beverage Operations Manager reports to the Tour Manager with a dotted reporting line to the F&B Strategic Lead.


Job Overview
The Food Operations Manager is responsible for the operational delivery of the food at The Strangers Experience Toronto, whereas operational delivery is defined as the commercially

optimised and efficient performance of the P&L, safe and legally complaint daily operations, motivation and leadership of the team, control of company asset including equipment and stock, building & maintaining strong inter-departmental relationships and customer focussed delivery of product and service.


Responsibilities and Duties
Team Management / Leadership

To build / schedule a training plan across the two allocated training days, the training plan should cover POS, Food Safety, allergens, Health & Safety, Experience induction, Customer Service, Equipment Use, Product & Packaging Specification, Outlet Opening & Closing Procedures.

to ensure that newcomers to the team are inducted and trained prior to the start of their first shift.

To ensure that the uniform policy is always adhered to.
To ensure the whole team are aware that they are ambassadors of Strangers Things Toronto, Fever, and Netflix.

To ensure a full complement of staff are present according to the staff planner, to communicate and document shortages, lates and poor performance with Thunder Child.

To quantify and authorise any necessary labour overruns recording the reasons.

To make changes to the staffing planner according to the needs of the business, reducing hours / compliment for troughs and increasing for peaks.

To ensure Team Leaders are briefed on the day ahead activity, timings, attendance, targets, and the previous days financial performance.

To ensure all accidents / near misses & customer issues are recorded and reported.
To ensure the team are happy and motivated.

To provide clear leadership, setting high standards of service, delivery, and unambiguous expectations of performance.
To ensure that agency billing and freelancer hours claimed is reflective of reality, identifying and communicating over charges. Inventory & Product Management
To place the weekly orders required according to the demands of the business, ensuring not to overstock.
Creating strategies for slow moving stock.
To carry out monthly stocktakes / valuations.

To ensure demand is tacked to avoid running out and overstocking and to run stocks down toward the end of the run.

To ensure that inventory is managed correctly, including safe and secure storage, rotation and monitoring of product temperatures.
Ensuring that waste is being recorded and minimised.
To keep accurate track of stock used for promotions, sponsorship, photography, and the like.

Ensuring that weekly orders / delivery notes and invoices marry up, and that any shortages / credits are communicated with supply chain.

Compliance & Due Diligence

To ensure equipment faults are remedied ASAP, and that service issue mitigation strategies are put in place while equipment is down.

To ensure all products are stored correctly in sealed containers, off the floor and correctly dated.
To ensure all cold storage is temperature monitored and such monitoring is recorded.
To ensure cook and service point temperatures are monitored and recorded.
To ensure that all team members are complying with safe food handling and cleaning procedures.

To ensure that staff have a safe working environment and that any concerns / issues are communicated with the relevant department / resolved, if communicated to ensure resolution action takes place and if not to ensure escalation of the same.

To ensure Stranger Things the Experience Toronto is always complaint. Financial Performance

To ensure daily financial reports are fully completed and circulated and that weekly spend on labour and product are quantified and recorded.

To ensure staff and stock levels are in line with the business needs through peaks and troughs.
To keep the team informed with performance including turnover, SPT and transaction count achievements.
To ensure conformity to company cash handling procedures. (Where applicable)
To ensure bi-monthly branded disposable
