Job description
We have exciting opportunities for experienced Construction Superintendents with minimum 5 years of local experience in constructing water and wastewater pipes (sewers, watermain, process piping), valve chambers, maintenance chambers and other related municipal infrastructure within a municipal right of way in Ontario.
In these positions, you'll be leading the construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, supporting the delivery of local government projects across the Greater Toronto Area, as well as working closely with our internal teams on large commercial/residential subdivision projects.
Skills and Qualifications
As a Construction Superintendent, you already have the basic qualifications and skills required to manage a team and to ensure projects stay on track.
- Excellent communication skills

- Thorough understanding of budgeting best practices in construction projects
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Understanding of construction equipment use, maintenance, and operation
- Comprehensive understanding of local, provincial, and federal construction regulations
- Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Time management and delegation skills
Experience Requirements
The position of a Construction Superintendent is a supervisory position managing a team of Construction Workers, Labourers, and Field Coordinators.
Most Construction Superintendents have been in the industry for many years, and have worked in related roles such as Construction Workers, Designers, Engineers, Planners or as other professionals within the industry.
Education and Training Requirements
A Construction Superintendent, you have a high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum but having an associate or a bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or other relevant disciplines is advantageous.
You have earned several years of on-the-job training, and certifications specific to the construction industry, such as Certified Construction Manager or Certified Professional Constructor titles.
