Description
The CAD Systems Administrator is responsible for generating reports, provide training, and address daily user requests for implemented processes and CAD tools.
In this position you will also support the developments or improvements to the CAD tools and related procedures in use to meet current and future needs of the business.
This will include the development, implementation and maintenance of CAD tools, integration with current and future systems related to the CAD environment, CAD templates, CAD standards, CAD part catalogues, libraries, and computer system specifications.
Excellent communication, technical, analytical andorganizational skills are a requirement.
Day shift - 5 x 8 hour shifts - Monday to Friday
This is not a remote opportunity
Skills and Experience:
- Provide Solidworks CAD training and technical support to end users [RM1]
- Applicants possessing a Certification in SOLIDWORKS will be given preference
- Assisting users with SOLIDWORKS models and SOLIDWORKS PDM break fix situations, steering users toward existing best practices
- Provide support for SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDWORKS PDM, and SOLIDWORKS Composer
- Confidently assist with SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration
- Possess an engineering technician diploma or equivalent accompanied by demonstrable practical experience using the SOLIDWORKS suite of tools
- Previous experience working with a variety of computeraided design software, as well as excellent technical, analytical and organizational skills
- 35 years 2D/3D CAD experience
- Support the CAD software implementation / integration, CAD set up / management / administration
- Maintain / update / tailor CAD library, CAD parts catalogues, system specifications, CAD templates, CAD standards
- Support the CAD configuration and control and data consistency.
- Product Development software upgrade selection, testing and validation, including data upgrades and cleansing initiatives
- Develop, generate or produce automatic extraction of CAD reports to support business needs
- Monitor performance of the CAD hardware and software systems in use by the end users across the business
- Contribute to the development of strategies, processes, & procedures and WI to improve the quality in the use of CAD tools with the end users
- Work as part of the team to standardize library models and templates through creation of models
- Find opportunities and recommendations for growing workflow efficiencies
- Support Digital Twin development and requirements
- Identify training needs, process improvements and development opportunities to ensure current and future team efficiency
- Active member of steering committees to gather, validate, and launch best practices through MS office tools, Wiki, and in class instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to develop solutions to complex technical CAD problems
- Good analytical skills to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the business
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with changing priorities, delays or unexpected events
- Superior organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Must have your own vehicle and be able to travel between sites and travel abroad
- Able to effectively troubleshoot and problem solve independently and as part of a team
