Financial Controller - Winnipeg, Canada - Northway Pharmacy
Description
We are a growing, dynamic group of locally owned pharmacies, consisting of fourteen (14) locations.Working out of our head office and reporting to the CFO, the Controller plays an important role within the organization and has a wide and varied scope of responsibility including but not limited to:
- Oversee a team and actively participate in all functions relating to full-cycle accounting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements
- Manage monthend responsibilities including account reconciliations; prepare and maintain accruals; and continuous review of internal controls
- Maintain and improve financial controls
- Participate in a variety of special projects to lead this organization in continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor cash flow to ensure the financial health of the company
- Lead yearend review with the external accountants
- Management of office administration
Proficiencies Required:
- a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with a strong grasp of full-cycle accounting.
- a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience (preferred)
- post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field (Accounting, Business, Commerce, etc)
- Proficient working with SAGE 50
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and more specifically MS Excel to review and analyze significant amounts of data.
- Able to read, write, and speak fluently in English
- Professional, organized, self motivated, team player, learns quickly, positive attitude
