    Job Description

    Provides administrative support, including monitoring all reports; assisting members with their needs (i.e. wires, general transactions and enquiries, etc.); and acting as the Department subject matter expert with respect to the banking system and all matters related to Member Direct Small Business. Accountable for opening new business accounts across PenFinancial branch network, and assisting our business members with all related services such as Business Mastercard, CAFT, Member Direct Small Business, business cheque orders, and other miscellaneous business account related requests.

    Differentiating Accountabilities:

    • Oversee the end-to-end business account opening process
    • Ensure that all FINTRAC and regulatory requirements with respect to business accounts are met.
    • Subject matter expert for Member Direct Small Business (MDSB) and all banking system matters. Provides assistance and direction to both employees and members for all issues related to MDSB and the banking system.
    • Review loan applications to confirm that the appropriate level of approval (i.e. Credit Committee, Board of Directors, etc.) has been obtained and all conditions precedent have been satisfied. Input loans on banking system and advance funds per loan approvals.
    • Complete loan advances. This includes reviewing the draw request to confirm it matches the terms of the approval, and obtaining all necessary supporting documents such as sub-searches, member budgets, appraisal/engineer reports, etc.
    • Accurately review and prepare various reports and conduct follow up as required, and/or make recommendations as appropriate.
    • Audit colleagues work as required.
    • Make referrals to the branch network when appropriate.
    • Perform other assigned responsibilities.
    Qualifications
    • University Degree or College Diploma or 10+ years of banking experience
    • 3+ years of Financial services experience
    • General knowledge of real estate law, land registry system, and mortgage lending principles
    • General knowledge of the Personal Property Securities Act (PPSA) and registry
    • Displays interpersonal skills by demonstrating approachability, trustworthiness, flexibility, and a strong work and service ethic
    • Strong attention detail
