The Specialized Geriatric Services program provides rehabilitative and specialized care to adult and geriatric patient populations, as well centralized access, assessment, and treatment services to older adults who require medical management and skilled care by an interdisciplinary team within inpatient and outpatient settings.
As an established leader, you will provide support for the development of our clinical teams through education, best practice and continuous quality improvement.
An established and professional leader, your experience reflects aspects of operational leadership, people, project and financial management, continuous quality improvement, as well as a strategic and values-based leadership approach.
Your passion for optimizing our health system for older adults is paramount, and you are committed to life-long learning in the specialty of Geriatrics.
Essential Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in nursing or an allied health discipline
- Current active member of the associated College
- Knowledge of a safety culture in a health care setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
- Previous experience with addressing the complexities of the frail elderly population
- Previous experience in leadership, team building, quality improvement and program development
- Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills along with exceptional facilitation and coaching skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational and computer skills
- Demonstrated abilities in fiscal management
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a wide range of professionals
- Ability to promote the values of shared leadership and interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in leadership and clinical specialty
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in a unionized environment
- Master?s degree in a health related field
Teaching and Research
- St. Joseph?s Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St Joseph?s you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your leadership duties
Immunization Requirements
- Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
