The payroll team works in a high volume and fast paced environment. Paying around 26,000 employees around the globe on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis. Payroll works hard and plays hard enjoying a work life balance.
A day in the life:
The Payroll Administrator prepares and inputs changes and adjustments for assigned locations and processes the payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
- As a team (US, Canada, International) process payroll accurately and on time on a biweekly basis.
- Input changes and adjustments ensuring all input is appropriately authorized with strict adherence to deadlines.
- Follow up with Store Managers as necessary regarding incomplete and/or inaccurate paperwork.
- Promptly advise management of any problem areas along with possible solutions.
- Provide clients with a high standard of service and support by ensuring all requests/concerns are dealt with
- Provide manual cheques and any other required forms such as ROE's on time and accurately.
- Ensure SOX compliance and compliance with provincial/state wage and labour laws regarding payments,
- Assist the Payroll Accountant with monthly and year end payroll and account reconciliations as necessary.
- Provide ad hoc reporting as needed
- Respond on time to government surveys or requests such as US unemployment claims.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of payroll experience.
- CPA level I preferred.
- Strong knowledge of current Canadian and/or US payroll rules and laws.
- Experience working with confidential information
