Accounting Specialist

Job Summary
Under general supervision, investigates, analyzes, and reconciles accounting and financial related information as well as prepares financial statements. Acts as a liaison between internal departments and affiliates in resolving outstanding issues.


Responsibilities

  • Creates basic journal entries and work paper reconciliation and analysis.
  • Creates new assets, runs depreciation and prepares necessary reporting.
  • Monitors and approves tooling records, processes invoices and mails to customer, assists sales in resolving past due tooling records.
  • Suggests processes improvements for area of responsibility.
  • Prepares bank reconciliation and cash account analysis.
  • Completes financial reporting as necessary.
  • Performs intercompany account reconciliations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance
  • 03 years relevant experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties.
  • Basic analytical skills to investigate interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible.
  • Customer service skills to display a serviceoriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues.
  • General understanding of accounting principles
  • Negotiation skills to resolve fundamental situations/issues.

Salary Range
CAD $50,000 - $52,000
