BUILDING SERVICES ASSOCIATE - Part Time hours per week)

Reporting to the Building Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for all janitorial services, as well as basic maintenance and repairs of the Centre facility, grounds, and equipment.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the Centre including offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, locker areas, track and exercise areas and exercise equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting as required.
  • Removing trash and emptying/cleaning recycling bins.
  • Cleaning of parking and outdoor areas ensuring Centre grounds including sidewalks, front entrance, and emergency exits are clean and clear of obstructions including snow and ice.
  • Replacing supplies needed throughout the facility and organizing cleaning of supply storage spaces.
  • Assisting with general maintenance functions as assigned.
  • Identifying and reporting all equipment and facility concerns to management.
  • Completion of high school or GED equivalent
  • Ability to speak/read/write and understand English
  • Previous cleaning/janitorial experience including use of commercial cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Previous experience performing general repairs and maintenance functions.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Ability to safely use a ladder for high cleaning duties.
  • Ability to independently manage time and work flow.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work afternoon and evening shifts Thursday to Sunday.
Current starting rate $14.20 and may include benefits.
