Safety Coordinator

Rob Smith & Son Backhoe & Trucking Ltd. is COR certified company engaged in the construction industry in Manitoba. The base of operations is located in rural Manitoba just north of Neepawa, MB.

Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:

• Answer telephone and direct calls
• Filing
• Maintain training records
• Maintain Health and Safety Manual
• Monthly inspection of fire extinguishers and first aid kits on all jobsites and maintain records
• Monthly inspection of office, yard and shop for Safety and Health Program
• Attend jobsites when necessary to complete Health and Safety electronic documentation
• Maintain Sitedocs Health and Safety Program
• Review Sitedocs daily and record relevant information
• Occasionally drive to Neepawa, Brandon or Winnipeg for parts or supplies with company vehicle
• Other duties as assigned

The successful applicant should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Energetic, self-motivated with a desire to learn
• Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
• Experience with Sitedocs and Motive would be an asset but would train
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• The ability to safely mount and dismount large equipment in order to check fire extinguishers
• Will be required to take WHMIS training among other courses as required
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment as the need requires
• Experience in the construction industry is an asset
• COR Health and Safety training is an asset but can be trained
• Ability to multi task and take direction from others
