This position reports to the Technical Manager and is responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, safety, and training of a team of Millwrights in close working relationship with production, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure equipment availability within the plant, corrective & preventive maintenance is done in accordance with the plan, and budgeting is in alignment with company KPIs.

This position is located at site in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (MB),


Key Accountabilities

  • Lead Millwrights and manage contractors daytoday work responsibilities
  • Responsible for the team's daily scheduling (shift meetings, WO assignment, short interval control meetings, safety huddles, breaks)
  • Responsible for all maintenance activities and has the ability to communicate/escalate concerns to Technical Manager when needed
  • Ensure the team complies with company policies, procedures, regulations, and best practices to ensure overall employee better wellbeing, health, and safety
  • Daily interaction/communication with the manufacturing department (work order status, daily activity, optimization, safety, etc.)
  • Balances the schedule between planned maintenance jobs and new jobs (job priority scheduling, PM compliance)
  • Manage and consolidate maintenance costs in alignment with monthly/yearly budget and share issues/concerns with Technical Manager to implement corrective action plans as needed
  • Participate and/or leads in root cause analysis for mechanical related issues for the site
  • Oversee and ensure work orders are closed in a timely manner, reporting completed, KPI and dashboard are updated (update system: SAP, MIGO, and other platforms if required).
  • Validates maintenance requests/notifications and gatekeeps on emergency type jobs (lead and/or support team to find solutions to the problems)
  • Ensure the proper function and organization of the maintenance workshop by directly being involved with the work activities and/or delegating responsibility as nesessary
  • Ensure the maintenance and proper function of onsite mobile equipment (boom lift, forklift, etc.)
  • Facilitates teamwork with onsite technical services on improvement actions (action plan, work prioritization, long and shortterm planning, preventive maintenance, FMEA, reliability)

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and programs
  • Understand and respect the rules concerning safety, quality, hygiene, and the environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Roquette Pea processing plant and its operations.

Functional competencies

  • Good communication skills and open to feedback
  • Aptitude for logistics, planning and scheduling
  • Excellent Vendor Management Skills
  • Experience working with large data sets and sorting/reconciling data.
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Ability to gain good operational knowledge of production process at Roquette

Technical Applicative competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft series of office software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Good working knowledge of SAP.
  • Ability to read schematic, diagrams and drawings for the purpose of determining parts lists
  • Good technical knowledge (mechanical, electrical) of industrial equipment regarding "best practices" (vibration analysis, material, lubrication analysis, hydraulics, alignment) and "precision maintenance techniques"

Education

  • Must hold a certified Journeyperson industrial Millwright License or Equivalent issued by the Province of Manitoba or bear the Red Seal Certificate from another province.

Experience

  • 35 years of experience working as supervisor in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry.
