Your Opportunity:
Wetaskiwin has an exciting opportunity in its brand new MDR department. We are expanding surgical services at our site as part of the Alberta surgical initiative. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be a part of opening the new department in July, 2024.

The successful applicant will maintain a knowledge and accountability for promoting health and safety standards according to AHS, CSA and AH&W standards.

Promote a team vision to support on-going training for co-workers. Manage day-to-day issues with well thought out solutions and outcomes (staffing, area reassignment, break coverage).

They will establish daily priorities and develop a plan or propose changes to better manage the workload and provide information to site manager and supervisor.

The successful applicant will be involved in department workload as a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to enhance and facilitate work processes with co-workers.


Description:
As a Working Leader, you will orientate, support, and continuously coach Surgical Processors.

This may include setting priorities according to shift and daily requirements within the department while ensuring policies/procedures and standards are adhered to.

You will act as a formal resource to department staff and may act as a delegate for management on operational issues.

As a Working Leader, you may assist the management team by providing input for yearly performance evaluations of surgical processing staff.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.


Additional Required Qualifications:

As Required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum three to five years of experience as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in an active department. Working knowledge of all areas. Experience and knowledge of operating room. Instrumentation, background familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is an asset. Previous supervisory experience or training in front line supervision is an asset. Proven strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to lead and coach.
