Who We Are

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), one of the nation's leading conservation organizations, is a passionate community of people who believe that nature is the foundation of strong communities, a prosperous economy and a sustainable future that supports the hopes and dreams of the next generation.

Together, we conserve and restore some of the most valuable and threatened landscapes on the planet.

Native Plant Solutions (NPS), a consulting branch of DUC, is the most experienced company in Canada in naturalized stormwater system design, construction, and management.

What You Will Do
We are seeking dedicated landscape labourers to join our Native Plant Solutions team.

The successful applicant will work with other staff to perform activities related to the establishment, management, and maintenance of conservation and native plant habitat programs.

Day-to-day operation and maintenance of NPS's wetland and upland projects, which may include seeding, seed processing, chemical and mechanical weed control, installation of erosion control products, wetland hand-planting, goose fence installation/removal, and other tasks as required.

This physically demanding role requires outdoor work in all weather conditions and includes heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Some travel to various communities or remote areas may be required.

Requirements:

  • Physical capability to undertake rigorous landscape labour in support of our conservation programs.
  • Relevant work experience in one or more of the following specialties: plant and/or wetland ecology, agriculture/farming, greenspace management, plant science, environmental science, or landscaping, is preferred.
  • Fulltime postsecondary student pursuing a career in agriculture, biology, plant ecology, environmental science, sustainability, or similar field, is an asset.
  • Ability to work well both in a team setting and independently, with strong selfdirection when conducting fieldwork.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed, which may include evenings and weekends at times.
  • While Ducks Unlimited Canada would like to thank all applicants, only those considered for an interview will be contacted._
