What You'll Be Doing:


As a Consultant, Operations Management, you will be accountable for providing in-depth advice/consultation typically of an operational or tactical nature, to management and designated clients, relating to Corporate Actions.

The Consultant will assist in the resolution of routine and non-routine operational problems or issues by investigating, analyzing and providing an informed and independent opinion or recommendation on compliance issues, changes to policies, adequacy of operational controls, risk assessment, and control activities.

You may lead or provide input on projects related to the development and implementation of new and revised policies, procedures and standards.

This position will perform a review of voluntary control accounts weekly and monthly.


You will also participate in and support external audit year-end reviews as well as internal reviews relating to control items.

This position will perform a daily review of voluntary payment processing to ensure that event announcements are setup accurately on REOR (ADP) and will also review manual Reorg processing.

The incumbent will routinely provide technical guidance and professional advice to more junior specialists.

How You'll Succeed:

  • You have knowledge of Corporate Actions Operations Management, North American and Foreign Settlements, and Physical Securities
  • Knowledge of the structure of transactions from both a theoretical and practical viewpoint as well as the basic principles that underlie them.
  • Experience in Audit Principles
  • Monitor and support yearend audits and internal reviews for control items to ensure that objectives and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.


  • Governance/Tax Experience

  • Ability to understand tax complexities and how to process events accurately using sounds judgment so that the tax implications are reflected properly in client statements.
  • Provide indepth operational and tactical advice and guidance to management and client groups, in dealing with issues of a transactional nature
  • Interpret, provide advice on, and promote compliance with CIBC policies, procedures, standards as well as external regulatory and legislative requirements, in routine and nonroutine situations.
  • Strong Research and Consulting/Analytical Skills
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques and roles and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients within and outside own area. Research and analyze specialized information and recommend solutions to issues and problems that arise.


  • Technical Skills

  • You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. Knowledge of ADP (Broadridge), Cognos/Postedge, CDS/CAWeb (DTC), TRS (Trade Reporter System), Quicksloth (macro used for processing and pulling data on ADP) and GOW (Global Operations Workbench) is preferred.
