Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement and Administration, this role is accountable for ensuring the successful execution of Contract Negotiations, Strategic Sourcing, New Partnership Opportunities.

Procurement is a corporate shared service at Rocky Mountaineer.


This position works very closely with numerous departments within the organization when sourcing strategically and combining existing partnerships to drive volume, negotiates best in class contracts as well as finding efficiencies across the company to assist all departments in delivering life changing experiences.


As one of the first contacts for many of Rocky Mountaineer's vendors, customers, clients, guests, and employees, the Procurement Specialist will work in within the Procurement Team on a dedicated portfolio and will consistently provide exceptional service ensuring that needs and expectations are exceeded.


Key Areas of Accountability
Procurement

  • Collaborate with the Finance & Risk and Compliance Teams and business units on the implementation of processes, policies and programs
  • Manage and maintain key files for stake holders such as: vendor catalogues, cost management, contract library, vendor score matrix.
  • Support business units and stake holders with valuable information during budget planning
  • Manage Life cycle of contracts
  • Assist stakeholders in making informed decisions in a timely manner
Negotiation

  • Negotiate the best possible overall value in every instance with a strategic lens
  • Assist business units in achieving annual and longterm financial targets as it relates to their portfolio
  • Gain access to best products, services, and contracts through collaborations, negotiation and accountability as it relates to the portfolio
Sourcing

  • Develop specifications and conducts competitive bids and proposals
  • Manage bidding documents on behalf of shareholders or business units.
  • Ensure alignment with company strategic goals, values
  • Assist and provides valuable recommendations in vendor selection processes
  • Stay up to date with industry and market trends
Vendor Management

  • Act as a liaison between vendors and business units ensuring positive and growing relationships
  • Form and grow strategic partnerships
  • Streamline vendor catalogues achieving cost and process efficiencies
  • Hold supplier partners accountable to achieve desired and contracted outcomes as well as open and transparent agreements for better costs and risk management
  • Ability to assist Accounts Payable when required

Qualifications
Experience

  • 25 years' experience in a Procurement Environment (preferred)
  • Previous Purchasing experience with ability to convey a professional demeanor and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Proven experience in relationship management
Skills/ Requirements

  • A proven track record of excellent organizational skills and time management with an ability to meet deadlines in a busy work environment is essential for this position.
  • Create and maintain a highly efficient, strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience with COUPA, and contract management software is an asset
  • Capable of Negotiation and influence
  • Proven accuracy in working with budgets and reports as well as analyzing data
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and proven ability of effectively balancing conflicting priorities
