Position Description

The Maintenance Manager-PRM is responsible for the management of the Pacific Sky Approved Maintenance Operation ('AMO'), as well as the maintenance responsibilities under the TC 604 PORD.

Reporting Relationships
The position reports to the General Manager - Corporate Flight Ops.


Specific Accountabilities include:


  • Establish and maintain the company maintenance program.
  • Manage the aircraft maintenance schedule(s) to ensure they meet or exceed manufacturers and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage the maintenance facilities and tooling to ensure they meet required guidelines.
  • Oversee the forecasting, order, and negotiate competitive prices for spare parts inventory.
  • Develop and implement a (proactive) maintenance program.
  • Act as the direct supervisor for all maintenance staff; establish and maintain maintenance staff work schedules as well as providing ongoing coaching and mentoring for all personnel.
  • Coordinate the completion of complex repairs.
  • Identify requisite and suitable subcontractors for specialized maintenance work.
  • Develop and implement new ways/tools/assets to improve productivity and manage costs.
  • Draft and finalize all maintenance reports.
  • Train both maintenance and flight operations personnel on required maintenance related tasks.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel maintain required licenses and ratings.
  • Perform maintenance related activities in accordance with personal licensing privileges.
  • Ensure that all AME's carefully follow all TCCA regulations and PSAI AMO policy and procedures when performing any job duty.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are controlled per PSAI AMO procedures and are performed in accordance with the manufacturer's latest instructions on all aircraft that are receiving maintenance within the company's facilities.
  • Oversee the completion of records of work performed to sustain an accurate work order system.
  • Oversee the management of technical records to ensure they are originated and retained with respect to all inspections and maintenance functions.
  • Perform work in a productive, diligent, careful, and safe manner.
  • Implement corrective action plans for audit findings.
  • Maintain responsibility and accountability to the Accountable Executive for the maintenance of all AMO staff training records.
  • Support and implement the Pacific Sky operational and strategic business objectives.
  • Contribute positively to the culture, growth and strategic direction of the company.
  • Work in compliance with all administrative, health & safety policies and procedures per legislative requirements and as outlined in company policies.
  • Visually inspect, assess, and assist in repairs and modifications to aircraft structures, systems, and equipment.
  • Remove, install, and functionally test aircraft components.
  • Dismantle and assemble aircraft systems for repair and overhaul.
  • Remove aircraft control systems, check rigging, and reassemble.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft defects and implement corrective action.
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret blueprints and written technical instructions.
  • Participate and contribute to the Pacific Sky Management team.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements:


  • Maintains a proven track record of success in a leadership role in an aviation maintenance function.
  • Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining company manuals as required.
  • Able to engage others in the pursuit of organizational vision and goals; sets clear expectations for department and individual performance.
  • High energy level and service orientation.
  • Proven capability in understanding and managing budgets and cost management activities.
  • Creative problem solver that brings innovation and out of the box thinking to business opportunities.
  • Holds a Valid Transport Canada M1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license.
