Position Summary


Serve as a critical liaison between Hanson College and external stakeholders, facilitating communication and coordinating events to enhance the institution's visibility and reputation.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, and monitor communication strategies to engage various audiences, including agents, potential and current students, alumni, and community members.
  • Plan and execute a diverse array of events, such as open houses, industry related trade shows, conferences, agent appreciation events, networking etc.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and disseminate promotional materials for events, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors, event sponsors, and partners, ensuring a high standard of service and performance.

Communication Responsibilities:


  • Draft and edit communications such as newsletters, press releases, annual reports, speeches, website content, and social media posts.
  • Coordinate with student recruitment and other departments to gather and share news and updates for brand awareness and enrolment purpose.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries from the public and media, maintaining a positive image of the college.

Event Coordination Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all aspects of event planning and management, including budgeting, venue selection, scheduling, contracting vendors, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of events.
  • Manage postevent evaluations and produce reports to assess the effectiveness and ROI of each event.

Team Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with other departments, including Admissions, Alumni Relations, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs, to ensure alignment of communication and events.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of broader institutional strategies, initiatives, and projects.

Other Responsibilities:


  • Maintain an updated database of event participants, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in communication and event management to ensure innovative, effective strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the college's strategic goals.
  • Leverage research findings to enhance the effectiveness of the college's communication and event management strategies, contributing to business growth and reputation enhancement.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for senior leadership and external stakeholders, incorporating research data and analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and business development teams to incorporate research insights into promotional activities and partnership initiatives.
  • Evaluate the success of implemented strategies using key performance metrics, and provide insights for continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring:


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, hospitality management, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in communication, event planning, or a related role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using event management software and communication tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as events may require.
  • Familiarity with the higher education environment is preferred.
