They also continue to be a proudly family-owned, third generation run company that services the Greater Toronto Area and throughout the province and is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Designer to join their growing team.

As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the general assembly of the Paramount Power product line.

Primary duties in this role will include assembling, handling, shipping, and receiving of parts and components, and maintenance of the workshop.


Responsibilities
Assembly

  • Assemble prepared parts including mounting engines, fitting sensors, valves, hoses, and clamps.
  • Check spacing and clearance of fly wheel and fan blades while mounting the generator.
  • Ensure all fitting sensors, valves, hoses, and clamps are installed in appropriate spots and ensure all parts are tight to prevent leakage.
  • Ensure the engine is filled with coolant and oil, prior to testing.
  • Check engines to ensure all parts are in the correct place and fastened securely.
  • Punch holes and cutouts on alternators for breaker installation and connect all cables into the panel through the current transformer.
  • Assemble weatherproof generator enclosures and doors.
  • Assemble custom parts as required and as per assembly drawings.
  • Reconfigure panels to include different components as required.
  • Touch up painted components as required.
  • Build enclosures around the generator in accordance with assembly drawings.
Shipping and Receiving

  • Load and unload parts, components, and materials (i.e., fuel tanks, generators, transfer switches, etc.,) in accordance with shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Inspect all parts, components, and materials received for damage, and reject damaged goods by noting the damage on the bill of lading.
  • Identify the product received and match the paperwork to the skids.
  • Store products efficiently and in designated locations
  • Review bills of lading, packing lists, and all shippingrelated documents to match shipping details with parts, components, and materials received and escalate any discrepancies.
  • Prepare shipments for delivery by inspecting goods to be shipped against work orders and pack items as per packaging procedures ensuring goods loaded onto carrier are properly protected.
  • Attach identifying information and shipping instructions to the shipped products.
Shop Organization

  • Place all parts, components, products, materials, and generators in their designated location to ensure there is sufficient space for both expected and unexpected orders and shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shop workspace, ensuring all parts and tools are organized and all walkways are clear, upholding Health & Safety standards.
  • Assist with other adhoc tasks as assigned from time to time.
Work Environment

  • Highpressure and Fastpaced work environment
  • High level of autonomy and support
  • At times, may be required to work outdoors.
  • May be required to work outside of normal business hours.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical is considered an asset.
  • Mechanical or Electrical knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the tools used are required.
  • Forklift Operator license is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety principles and practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team Player with consistent quality workmanship
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
