Summary of Position

RTI employs a staff of Operations Management personnel that are highly experienced in operating petroleum refining and/or chemicals processes and equipment.

On a daily basis, our Operations Managers work with refinery operations personnel and turnaround professionals to plan and carry out chemical cleaning strategies.

The Shop Technician will assist the Shop/ Inventory Manager & Mechanical Coordinator with equipment readiness and maintenance.

In addition to the maintenance and readiness of the equipment the Shop Technician will ensure that shop maintenance areas are stocked appropriately with tools, supplies, and other applicable items to ensure the mission readiness and capability of RTI equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain inventory in an orderly manner
Pull parts for various project and stage for shipping
Load and unload trucks
Receive deliveries
Reconcile returns against original shipping documents
Deliver equipment to sites
Restock components upon return from project
Perform preventative maintenance of equipment
Inspect equipment before and after each project
Complete minor repair of equipment

Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to operate a forklift
Ability to use hand tools
Ability to organize and maintain regional repair shops to provide for timely and effective repairs of RTI equipment
Primary knowledge of the variety of fittings, valves, pipe, other rental equipment, and the fabrication of threaded piping assemblies
Ability to learn and understand more extensive knowledge of mechanical equipment and pipe work.
Familiar and comfortable working with a computer
Acceptable Experience and Training
Documented mechanical aptitude or formal mechanical education.
Forklift Operator

Required Certificates and/or Licenses
Valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions
Work is executed primarily in a shop/warehouse type environment.

Physical Demands

At industrial sites and in the shop environment one may be required to carry equipment (up to 40 pounds), climb stairs and ladders.

Safety Equipment/Apparel(This position requires the wearing or use of the following equipment and/or apparel.)

RTI will provide appropriate PP&E:
fireproof clothing, hard hat, safety shoes, gloves, etc. Some facilities require the use of respirators.

Required Travel
Minimal.
