The strategic procurement manager will be responsible for managing the strategic procurement work necessary for the target price.


You'll be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic direction on the procurement activities to Dev Co.
  • Supporting the target price work, derisking the implementation schedule by securing long lead items/supplier engagement
  • Developing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with Dev Co and the CA, developing mutual trust and understanding.
  • Supporting the procurement of the subcontractors through RFP to financial close on behalf of the CA.
  • Supporting the procurement strategy development, including vendor optimisation, local and sustainable vision realisation assessed against balancing cost, contracting strategy, efficient use of correct procurement route, performancebased supply and market outreach optimisation.
  • Supporting Dev Co to secure market coverage on the target price at each checkpoint and proposal stage.
  • Managing supplier engagement to ensure project awareness in the market and secure the services of the best of the supply chain.
  • Managing early engagement with the supply chain to support the project, with or without agreements in place.
  • Managing early procurement of critical and long lead items.
  • Supporting the procurement manager in the development and deployment of the procurement plan and new processes.
  • Ensuring compliance against their procurement management plan.
  • Validating tendered packages and issuing any nonobjections.
  • Ensuring the correct terms and conditions are issued to the supply chain.
  • Addressing and managing project and supply chain delivery issues.

You'll need to have:

  • Relevant experience in large engineering and construction projects.
  • Relevant experience working in large teams.
  • Ability to conduct procurement projects in public sector procurement.
  • Understanding in working with multiple stakeholders in the implementation, deployment, and administration of program procurement initiatives.
  • Deploying and administering procurement initiatives to ensure their deployment and effectiveness in achieving improved project outcomes.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
