  • The Early Childhood Education Department is seeking contract faculty from across British Columbia to instruct and supervise practicum courses commencing January 202
  • We are interested in applicants from all areas of British Columbia to supervise students who are working and learning in their home communities.

The primary place of work will be the community you reside in while using Douglas College's online learning technology platform to conduct supervision and provide seminars to students.

The Role

  • We require contract instructors for practicum supervision starting January 202
  • Further contracts may be awarded in the future as the need arises.
    Responsibilities
  • As a contract practicum instructor, you will oversee the learning of students who are practicing skills in selected sites. You will facilitate student learning as they integrate and reflect upon their educational, personal and professional experiences while on practicum and during scheduled online seminars.
There are three areas you will be responsible for:

  • Online work site supervision and guidance. Depending on where students are located in the province, may attend in person site visits.
  • Online group seminars
  • Practicum evaluation/feedback component involving written midterm and final student evaluations/grades
The Department is seeking contract instructors for the following courses:

  • ECED Early Childhood Education Practicum 1
ECED Early Childhood Education Practicum 2
ECED Special Needs Preceptorship
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • Experience or strong interest in teaching applied knowledge and skills to postsecondary students.
  • Interest and/or proficiency in technology using an onlinebased teaching & learning platform.
  • Excellent communication & time management skills.
  • Your own computer.
