AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:


Reporting to the Director/Senior Manager/Manager/Coordinator, the HR Program Assistant provides program and administrative support to the various functional teams in Human Resources such as Talent Acquisition, Employee & Labour Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Organizational Development, HR Administration and Health, Safety & Wellness, by assisting in day-to-day duties, ensuring effective delivery of services and responses to general inquiries received by the section.


  • Respond to employee and external client inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services, and escalates to appropriate City staff as required
  • Assist and collaborate on the sectional programs and special projects
  • Provide administrative support including physical and electronic filing, preparing memos and formatting reports
  • Maintain records, documentation, and prepare reports as required
  • Process online forms and provide support on sectional workflow procedures
  • Assist with data entry and tracking, and maintain data integrity
  • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
  • Understand and adhere to Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards
  • Attend meetings/training as required

EDUCATION:
  • Working towards a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial or Labour Relations, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a similar discipline;

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Human Resources specific principles

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:


  • Effective customer service skills and communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
