    Job Description

    Position profile – Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – University of Saskatchewan, Department of Medicine, Saskatoon Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology has a great opportunity for a hepatologist to join our liver unit. Successful candidate will work in a growing and dynamic team setting within SHA, including our current hepatologists and gastroenterologists, hepatobiliary surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurse specialists, and other allied health professionals who are driven to provide high quality clinical care. The hepatologist will play an integral role in management of patients both pre- and post-liver transplant including weekly case discussions with the Edmonton Transplant team. In addition to weekly transplant meetings, you will participate in our pathology rounds, hepatobiliary rounds, and hepatocellular cancer rounds. Other responsibilities include secondary and tertiary inpatient and outpatient management of patients with acute and chronic GI and liver disease and participate in a 1:11 combined GI and hepatology call roster. Applicant must demonstrate a strong aptitude and interest in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the College of Medicine. Opportunities exist for individual and collaborative research at both local and national levels. Our multifaceted team comprises expertise in therapeutic endoscopy (including RFA, POEMS, ESD), capsule endoscopy, ERCP, EUS, small bowel ultrasound, GI motility, fibroscan, and IBD; service is provided to the three main hospitals in Saskatoon. Opportunity is available to provide care within rural Saskatchewan and experience in delivering health care virtually will be beneficial.     Job Qualifications

    Applicants must have completed a residency-training program in Internal Medicine and subspecialty training in Gastroenterology accredited by the or equivalent. Applicants must have completed Fellowship training in Hepatology including transplant medicine. Applicants should be eligible for regular licensure to practice in Saskatchewan as determined by the .
