Job Summary:


The Global Tax department is responsible for supporting accurate and efficient execution of all tax functions for the Apotex Group of Companies; including Income and Indirect tax compliance, reporting and planning, transfer pricing and other tax support.

The Manager, Global Tax is a hybrid role and will be a key player to support the development and maintenance of accurate and efficient tax processes and responsibilities for the company as outlined.


Responsibilities:


  • Management of Canadian Income Tax Compliance process for all Canadian Apotex Companies
  • Coordinating, preparation and review of income tax returns, T106, foreign affiliate reporting (T1134) and SRED claims.
  • Management and review of quarterly and annual tax provision process for Apotex Consolidated, Canadian & Foreign companies, including assisting with disclosure and support of internal controls.
  • Perform tax research, interpreting legislation / administration and documenting findings.
  • Correspond with and act as audit liaison for tax reporting included in IFRS Financial Statements.
  • Liaising with treasury and finance to help in the management of the treasury function.
  • Manage Canadian CRA audit requests and correspondence as applicable for all Canadian entities.
  • Assist external service providers with the coordination of information required to support the preparation of Apotex transfer pricing contemporaneous documentation as needed.
  • Assist business leaders in the organization through understanding business developments and acting as a trusted tax advisor.
  • Work on various special tax projects including assisting with significant transactions.
  • Work in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve goals and demonstrate behaviours that exhibit our organizational Values: Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion.
  • Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.
  • Any other duties as set out by Tax Director relevant to the wider tax function.

Job Requirements:


  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA, Completion of CPA
  • Indepth or MTax program.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Indepth knowledge understanding of tax accounting and reporting under IFRS with Public Company experience.
  • Ability to execute on complex tax engagements working closely as needed with nontax business people from all levels within the organization.
  • Strong excel modelling capabilities.
  • Strong research and English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to balance and lead multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to support the needs of the business and develop cross functional relationships to benefit business requirements as a whole.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to internal and external customers.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a tax role at a large multinational company and or accounting firm.
  • Experience
with SAP and Onestream Consolidation.

  • Experience
with a broad range of both domestic and international tax compliance and or accounting / reporting.
