Driller's Apprentice with a DZ Driver's Licence | Full-time, Monday to Friday
Drilltech Drilling Ltd is located in Newmarket and is a family-owned and operated company.

We have been drilling year-round since 2005, servicing the GTA and beyond, primarily working with engineering firms, assisting with environmental and geotechnical projects.

Here at Drilltech, we specialize in a variety services including core sampling, installation and decommissioning of monitoring wells, rock core drilling, and wash boring.

We are looking to add to our team Please note that 10% of the position is truck driving - You will be required to drive to and from the jobsite from the shop, 90 % of the job is manual labor - You will be required to work outside in all weather conditions, year-round.
A driller's apprentice provides support to the driller in all aspects of daily operations of the drill rig.

This includes but may not be limited to the following and requires strenuous physical work such as continuously pulling rods and emptying tubes, assisting to set up the drill, connecting hydraulic hoses, preparing inner and outer tubes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid DZ driver's license and a clean abstract
  :3 years of DZ driving experience is required:
• Access to a reliable vehicle for reporting to shop daily
• Working at Heights
• WHMIS
• Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps OR Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness in 5 Steps

Duties:

• Operate heavy equipment, such as drill rigs, to extract core samples
• Conduct drilling operations according to project specifications and safety guidelines
• Set up and maintain drilling equipment, including ensuring proper functioning and performing routine maintenance
• Load and unload drilling equipment onto trucks or trailers
• Transport drilling equipment to and from job sites
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of drilling sites, including assembling and disassembling of drill rigs
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on drilling equipment, such as changing drill bits and/or lubricating machinery
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Other duties as required/assigned

Skills:

• Experience operating heavy equipment, such as drill rigs or excavators
• Proficient in route driving techniques for transporting equipment to job sites
• Ability to load and unload drilling equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to complete all required paperwork fully and accurately
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues with drilling equipment
• Knowledge of proper procedures for loading and unloading materials onto trucks or trailers

$25.00-$27.00 per hour
