We are seeking a

Manager of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to focus on the Agency's equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies. As a member of the management team, you will provide planning and implementation in equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI), human rights, anti-racism, anti-oppression, anti-semitism, and accessibility. Working towards strengthening the work culture, support organizational achievement and staff well-being. This is a 12-18 months full-time contract with hybrid work option available.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and take the lead on the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead for the Agency's Equity, Inclusion and Diversity efforts.
  • Oversee the development of the strategy and design of the Agency's organizationwide approach to EDI. This approach should align with and further support the Agency's mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaborate with individual teams to implement EDIinformed practices in their work, ensuring that these practices are integrated into the everyday operations of the agency.
  • Ensure that our EDI strategy is based on best practices and a datadriven approach to evaluating progress on EDI commitments.
  • Lead the Agency's internal staff equity committee by guiding its activities
  • Provide strategic advice on the development of required policies, training programs and other initiatives.
  • Ensure change initiatives aimed at integrating equity and antioppressive practices align with the agency's antioppressive goals and objectives with a strong emphasis on combating antisemitism and all forms of discrimination.
  • Serve as a key resource to external committees and groups. By liaising with service partners, funders, Ministry committees, and other programrelated activities.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the agency and the community to drive innovative changes that lead to improved outcomes for children, youth, and families with a focus on addressing antisemitism and discrimination.
  • Foster an equityfocused, healthy workplace culture that is fair, consistent, and respectful while simultaneously striving to create an effective employee and leadership team that reflects the rich diversity of the community we serve.
  • Work with external consultants, as needed, on ensuring key milestones are achieved for the agency's EDI implementation journey.
  • Lead and support EDI training and education initiatives on all forms of discrimination and work collaboratively with community advocacy experts (e.g. CIJA)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • A university degree in equity studies, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in the EDI field with increasing scope and responsibilities for developing and leading diversity strategies.
  • Experience in leadership, project and change management and policy/program development.
  • Experienced in conflict resolution and issues management
  • Demonstrated progressive experience developing, implementing and evaluating strategies, initiatives that address disproportionality and disparity in a social service setting.
  • An understanding of how antisemitism is contextualized within the frameworks of diversity, antioppression.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
