JOB TEXT:


Responsible for the safe transportation of students to and from schools according to pre-planned routes and for school events where applicable.

While operating the bus, the Equipment Operator II/Lead Driver is responsible for the supervision of students and reporting incidents/accidents/discipline matters to School Administrators and District management.

The Equipment Operator II/ Lead Driver will also maintain record of duty status, perform daily trip and post trip inspections, perform minor repairs, and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.


The Equipment Operator IIF/Lead Driver will be responsible to ensure staffing arrangements are made through the use of an electronic staffing program, coordination of extracurricular bus runs, monitoring of road conditions and inform school admin as such, ensuring regulations and procedures are followed by bus drivers.

The completion of bus runs at any school that the Corner Brook Bus Depot services may be a requirement.


Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Class 2 Drivers License with air brake endorsement
  • Knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act
  • Understanding of Bus Evacuation Procedures
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
  • WHMIS
  • Understanding of District Policies and Procedures
  • Certified in Emergency First Aid (CPR C)
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Defensive Driving
  • The ability to work as a team player and independently
  • Knowledge in the use of various computer software
  • Work sample testing will be part of the interview process
Salary as per CUPE

Collective Agreement:
(CG:27 - $ $26.56)
