Duties:


The manager of Officer Safety, Standards and Technology is a position within Enforcement Branch's Officer Development and Branch Standards Directorate.

The position is responsible for Enforcement Branch's Occupational Health and Safety program, developing and maintaining operational policies, Information Management and leading the Branch's Field Communications program.

The successful applicant will be required to engage and work with Officers across the country to develop tools and products that support the Enforcement Branch's mandate of ensuring a clean, safe, and sustainable environment for Canadians.


Intent of the process:


The intent of this selection process is to permanently staff one (1) EC-07 position in Gatineau only with a CBC/CBC bilingual imperative linguistic profile.

Education:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.


An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency


Experience:

Significant experience* in the development and implementation of policies, regulations or procedures in an operational environment.


Significant experience* performing analysis and providing advice and recommendations to senior management**Significant experience* conducting analysis and evaluation of organizational policies or programs.

Experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.

Significant experience* is defined as the experience normally acquired over a minimum of a 1-year period.

Senior management** is defined as Director level and above.


Asset Experience:
Experience working with the Canada Labour Code.

Experience working with an enforcement or regulatory organization.

Experience supervising a team.

Experience managing a budget.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code relating to an operational (i.e. fieldwork) environment.

Knowledge of program analysis and evaluation principles.
